Hello!

I am Kaitlyn, a first-year dental hygiene student with a minor in special education. I grew up only a short 15-minute drive from the Biddeford campus in sunny Saco Maine. I attended a semi-private high school with approx. 1500 students (300 of those students being international students). My love for community service and the arts stemmed from growing up at Thornton Academy and have shaped me into the person I am so far in life. I am beyond excited to see where my experiences and opportunities I will gain from studying at UNE take me in life. The choice to attend The University of New England was a no brainer. Being able to get an amazing education in a beautiful location AND stay so close to home? Yes, please! As a dental hygiene major and special education minor, I have a very large interest in helping others and educating the public on how to keep themselves healthy. I believe that learning in a classroom will not only give you academic knowledge but will, in the end, teach you more about yourself as a person than you ever thought you could know about yourself. Aside from learning in the classroom, getting yourself involved in as many ways as possible will add to your resume of life experiences.
